Nido privacy policy

Nido is a baby diary made by an independent developer. It was built so that your family's information stays yours. In short: we don't collect anything.

What Nido stores, and where

Everything you enter (your baby's name, birthday and photo, feeds, sleep, diapers, medicines, temperatures, vaccines, doctor visits, notes and your own check-ins) is stored on your device.

iCloud sync (optional, off by default). If you turn it on, your diary is also kept in your own private iCloud account, so it appears on your other devices. It's protected by your Apple Account; we can't see it.
Partner sharing (optional). If you share a diary, Apple's iCloud sends it directly to the people you invite. There's no Nido server in between, and we can't see what's shared.
Apple Watch. The watch app talks only to your iPhone.

Permissions Nido may ask for

Each one is asked only when you use the feature, and you can say no.

Camera: to take a photo for your baby's month photo or diary, right in Nido.
Photos (add only): to save the month photos you make. Nido never reads your photo library; choosing a photo uses Apple's photo picker, which shares only the photo you pick.
Health (read only, your sleep): to show how you slept beside your baby's night. Nido never writes to Health, and your Health data never leaves your iPhone or goes into iCloud or backups.
Calendar (add only): to add doctor visits. Nido never reads your calendar.
Notifications: for the reminders you turn on.

What we don't do

No accounts or sign-ups.
No servers: Nido doesn't send your information to us or to anyone else.
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code that could do any of those.
We don't sell or share data, because we never have it.

Things you choose to share

Nido only shares when you ask it to: exporting a spreadsheet or a doctor report, sending a "Where are we at?" update, saving a backup file, or adding a doctor visit to your calendar (Nido can write to your calendar but never reads it). Where that information goes is up to you.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent from a server.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to remove the diary and its settings from your device. If you used iCloud sync, you can also remove Nido's data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Children

Nido is for parents and caregivers. It doesn't collect information from anyone, including children.

Medical information

Nido shares general information, not medical advice. If something worries you, trust your instincts and call your pediatrician.
